8 Back To School Outfits for Teachers

It’s Back To School Time! I don’t know about you, but it feels so great to be back in the classroom with a room full of kiddos! I have rounded up 8 outfits that you can wear back to school this fall. I will link as many items as I can- or I will link a similar item if it is no longer available. However, you can easily re-create a lot of these outfits using staples you already have in your closet! I hope you enjoy these outfits and find some inspiration so you can feel your best going back to school! 🙂

  1. First Day Outfit- Midi Dress

I wore this dress on the first day back to school and received SO many compliments on it! I love that the sleeves are a little puffy and it is a midi length! Unfortunately I cannot find a link for this dress, but it was from Loft. I will try and link something similar. However, you can’t go wrong with any midi dress for the first day. Paired with a bold colored shoe and some fun tassel earrings, you are ready to welcome your kids back to school!

2. A Pop of Color!

A pop of color is great to add into your back to school wardrobe! This bright pink dress from J. Crew Factory is simple but so cute. This one is no longer available, but I will link a similar one from their website. But the best part of this outfit? The EARRINGS! These rainbow earrings are such a fun piece to add to your wardrobe. They can be worn as a fun statement earring to a more neutral outfit, or compliment a bold color. This dress could be worn with a mule if your school has a strict dress code and you cannot wear sandals.

3. A Khaki Moment

Khakis are a must in a teacher’s wardrobe- especially if you have a stricter dress code at your school. They pair well with an array of different shirts. This top is from J. Crew factory and is so comfortable; and I love the flutter sleeve! I linked a similar one below. These Amazon shoes are a basic that can transition into the fall.

4. Grade Level T-shirt

A grade level, or content area, typography t-shirt is a fun back to school outfit! You can wear this to celebrate the number day of school that corresponds to your grade level. For example, I will wear this to celebrate the Third day of 3rd grade! But you can even get a typography t-shit for the content area you teach. I made my t-shirt using my Cricuit, but you can buy these on Etsy. I will link a similar one. I paired it with a bright pair of pants from J. Crew Factory (sold out- I will link similar!) and a printed mule. The pencil earrings are from Target and just scream “I’m a teacher”!

5. Yellow, Yellow, Yellow!

Yellow is another fun, bold color to add into your back to school wardrobe. This yellow midi dress is from H&M and is so light and cozy. It does have a spaghetti strap, so I paired it with this denim jacket I purchased at T.J. Maxx a few years back. The earrings really make this outfit. They are so fun, especially if you teach a weather unit in your grade level.

6. Olive Green and Cheetah Print

Olive green and cheetah print are on REPEAT! You can wear this combo with any white top- I paired it with this one from Target. You can also throw on any black shirt, or even mustard yellow for a pop of color. I even transition this outfit into the fall/winter and wear a cute pair of booties instead of the cheetah print mules.

7. Teacher T-shirt

The retro inspired teacher t-shirt is EVERYWHERE right now. Rightfully so, because it is SO cute. I paired this one with these pants from Target. You could wear this outfit with a printed shoe, or even a pair of white sneakers for a more casual look.

8. Patriot Day/September 11th

If you start back to school around Labor Day, then Patriot Day (September 11th) is right around the color. In my school, teachers and staff wear red, white, and blue to honor those who lost their lives that day, and to show respect to our everyday heroes today. This red and white polka dot top is a few years old from Old Navy, but I will try and link something similar. These navy blue pants are from J. Crew Factory and I purchased them about 3 years ago while I was student teaching. They are surprisingly still available. Needless to say, they hold up very well!
